TipDirect cards have embedded NFC technology which enables you to pair the card to your tipping profile. Once paired, anyone with an NFC-enabled mobile device can simply tap your card and a notification on their phone will direct them to a page where they can leave you a tip.

Taking a tip with your TipDirect card

Once your card has been paired, instruct whoever is going to be giving you a tip to hold their device to the card. We recommend you get them to hold the card to the top back of their device and hold it in place for a few seconds to trigger the payment prompt notification.

Tip payment is taken in one of three ways:

• Apple Pay
• Google Pay
• Manual Card Detail Entry

Important things to note:

• It is best practice to hold the card to the top back of the device for a few seconds until the notification appears
• Quick taps will not always prompt the notification on devices so be aware of this when instructing new visitors on how to tip.
• Remember to set your default tip amount in your profile settings
• Tippers can change the tip amount
• By default, the transaction fee is checked and paid for by the customer, to date, 97% of customers have paid the transaction fee.
